Be Still My Soul

So about 5 years ago, I recorded an arrangement of Be Still My Soul that Jolie and I did.  When writing the arrangement, I wanted to create the sense of deep overwhelming emotions that occur throughout life’s journey.  And that, in the end, it is the atonement that allows us to overcome.  The hymn represents faith and knowledge that He understands all.

Anyway, through one thing or another I got busy and never really put it online.  I thought it’d be good to finally publish i.

I love this arrangement! Is there a way I could get an mp3 download of just the piano part?

Jared, I’ve been asked to sing this at a funeral in the coming week and this is the only appropriate arrangement I’ve found. Problem is, it’s too low for me. Is there a possibility you could transpose it up to E Major and email a copy? I tried to find an email for you, but to no avail.

Hello! I found your sheet music, “Be Still, My Soul” and I would like to sing it for my grandma’s funeral. It is so moving and I appreciate so much that you wrote it and shared it with us. Is it okay with you if I change any of the higher notes if I need to (I am a low alto)? If you would prefer not, I will make do!

    Hi Jared,
I absolutely love your arrangement of “Be Still, My Soul” I’d like to sing it for one of our churches services. I found your song at freesacredmusic.org, but I don’t want to assume that the permissions given there extend to recording for inclusion in an online service which is of course how we are holding our services during these times.
Our church is John Black Memorial United Church in Winnipeg, Mantiba, Canada. We post our services through Vimeo. The link to our services can be found on our website and is directly mailed to members of our congregation. Lately it’s been typical for our services to receive between 50 – 75 views.

I appreciate your consideration of this request and hope to hear from you soon.

    Thank you,

      Hi John,

Thanks for reaching out. You have my permission to perform at your service. All I ask is that you send me a link of the service. Hope all goes well!
